# Obsidian Book Club ## Project Overview As an organizer and moderator of the Obsidian community book club, this project involves coordinating quarterly reading seasons, managing book selection processes, and facilitating community discussions. Happy reading! --- ## Schedule of Events All genres are open for suggestions. _**2025**_ **Season 1** - **Suggestions:** January 1 - January 14 - **Voting:** January 14 - January 21 - **Reading:** February 1 - April 30 **Season 2** - **Suggestions:** April 15 – April 28 - **Voting:** April 29 – May 5 - **Reading:** May 15 – July 31 **Season 3** - **Suggestions:** July 15 – July 28 - **Voting:** July 29 – August 4 - **Reading:** August 15 – October 31 **Season 4** - **Suggestions:** October 15 – October 28 - **Voting:** October 29 – November 4 - **Reading:** November 15 – January 31 (2026) --- ## Book Selection ### Suggestion Period (2 Weeks) At the start of each season, we hold a two-week book suggestion period in the ⁠Bookclub thread. Use `BookClubBooks` in your message to suggest up to three (3) books per season. Please create one Discord post per suggestion. Any unselected suggestions will roll over into subsequent seasons, with the list resetting yearly. **Important:** Suggest standalone books or ones that do not require reading a series to understand and enjoy. The book with the most votes will be selected for the next season. ### Find the Book! (1-2 Weeks) Once a book is selected, an announcement post will include all the necessary details: - Title and Author - Edition or Year - Sources (where to find it) - Suggested Read-By Dates A 1-2 week period is provided between the announcement and the next reading season to secure a copy of the book. --- ## Spoilers The suggested read-by dates serve as a guide for spoiler-free discussions. Posts about chapters not yet covered by the current date must include spoiler tags (`||spoiler||`). For example: If it's August 23 and the read-by date for Chapters 3-4 is August 29, you must use spoiler tags when discussing Chapter 3. However, chapters with past read-by dates can be freely discussed. Let's keep the discussions engaging and respectful for all readers!
